Clearance: MUST HAVE ACTIVE SC CLEARANCE

My client is looking for 2 x Data Discovery Specialist's to join for an initial 6-month contract. This is a remote opportunity that requires an ACTIVE SC clearance.

JOB SPEC

These Data Discovery Specialists will ensure data completeness and data quality of the project Single Source of Truth throughout the phases of a Workload and Cloud Migration. They will work with the Capacity Management team to ensure sufficient capacity exists for the current and future needs of the project

Required skills and experience:

  • 3-5+ years' experience in technical IT (preferably in datacenter)
  • 2+ years' experience related to datacenter migrations
  • Understanding of the data required to perform a data center migration
  • Ability to learn new tools in a timely manner and to become a Subject Matter Expert in their installation and use
  • Microsoft SQL Server SQL Scripting (creation and execution)
  • Experience with ETL or similar data manipulation tools (eg IBM DataStage, Informatica, AB Initio, Talend, MooD)
  • Understanding of configuration management principles
  • Strong Excel skills

Additional skills desired but not essential:

  • MS SharePoint
  • Datamodelling experience
  • Good understanding of Application Contexting process
  • Basic understanding of configuration management tools (eg ESL, uCMDB, Atrium)
  • Basic understanding of data gathering tools (eg Universal Discovery, Netscout, ADDM)
  • Use of migration tools such as DoubleTake, PlateSpin, AppZero, Zerto, RACEMI

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the SSoT (Single-Source-of-Truth) data repository is correct, current, and complete for all Source and Target workloads (apps/Servers) at all times.
  • Ensure that data required for design, build and execution is ready and accessible for all migration project resources
  • Ensure that all project resources are kept apprised of the current state of the data within the SSoT.

Responsible for:

  • Installation and administration of the SSoT Tool in use for the project as architected by the Workload Migration and Assessment Engine (WAME)
  • Pre-configuration of any standard data elements within the SSoT
  • Uploading data from the various discovery tools into the SSoT
  • Ensuring the currency of the data in the SSoT
  • Training project personnel in the use of the SSoT Tool
  • Working with Consulting, Engineering, Applications Transformation and Migration Services to understand the current state of the data and determining which data values are missing
  • Generating Source to Target reports, Master Device List and Data Completeness/Quality Reports on a regular basis for use by project team
  • Reviewing contents of SSoT to ensure all element of the project scope are understood and confirmed; and to identify inconsistencies between Source and Target configurations

  • Prior experience with application or infrastructure development projects
