Description

We are recruiting for an EEE Parts/Component Engineer (Equipment Production Support) based remotely initially then Portsmouth for a leading defence & Space organisation.

The activities:

The Defence and Space UK are looking for an EEE Parts/Component Engineer to support EEE activities for UK projects.

Within the Defense & Space UK, in the frame of space EEE procurement, the EEE Parts Engineer is the entry-point into EEE Centre in front of electronics equipment product line (incl. Manufacturing, Design, Quality).

Responsible for EEE & PCB selection, demand management by ensuring on cost, on quality and on schedule delivery of EEE parts and usage support, including applications support to end-customer as well as to lower tier suppliers for sub-assembly procurements. Maintains the link between internal customer and EEE management team.

Skills and experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering and/or project management. Whilst technical expertise is assumed, cost and schedule management is key in this role.
  • Knowledge and experience in the technology of EEE parts as well as the EEE space specification systems (MIL, ESCC), necessary evaluations and qualifications.
  • Knowledge in an electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within a quality management environment.
  • Good competence in team working.
  • Customer-oriented way of thinking.
  • Independent and accurate way of working.

Specifics

The EEE Parts/Component Engineer acts within the EEE Local Electronic Support as the interface between the 3 core functions of the EEE Center (engineering, supply quality & laboratories, procurement and supply & strategy) and our internal customers. The EEE Parts/Component Engineer is the link to the product lines (including manufacturing) as well as the design, project and product assurance teams.

Within this important interface role the EEE Parts/Components Engineer is:

  • Responsible for EEE selection management, demand management (on quality, on time, on cost) and applications support.
  • Responsible for technical/quality support to end-customer (internal or external) as well as to lower tier suppliers for sub-assembly procurements.
  • Part of project core team.
  • Coordinating all EEE requirements.
  • Managing deviations and non-conformances with users.
