We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy who require an Azure Data Engineer for one of their Banking sector Clients based in London, UK.
IR35 - This role is inside of IR35
Duration: 3 - 6 months + extension
Job Duties & Skills:
- Relevant IT experience in the BI/DW domain with minimum 2 years of hands-on experience on Azure modern data platform
- Has good exposure of Azure SQL Data Warehouse (Synapse) and deep understanding of MPP concepts, architecture like distribution, replication, column cluster index
- Good experience in creating data structures optimized for storage and various query patterns for eg Parquet and Delta Lake
- Extremely good in writing analytical queries using SQL and stored procedures with industry wide best practices.
- Should be proficient in Azure Data Factory v2 (ADFv2) and should be able to develop and debug pipelines, scheduling and monitor jobs etc.
- Candidate should have hands-on on Scala or Python (PySpark) including Spark SQL
- Good experience in building data ingestion and transformation solutions using Azure Data bricks or Apache Spark
- Proficient at working with large and complex code bases (GitHub, Gitflow, Fork/Pull Model)
- Working experience in Agile methodologies (SCRUM, XP, Kanban)
