Contract Lead Software Engineer | Greenfield Project, HealthTech, Fully Remote
£500p/d - Outside IR35
We have worked with this company for 4 years and have built one of the best software teams in Bristol. They are a software engineering and data science company who support pioneering organisations deliver new products and services that rely on data and data science.
The business has been going for 10 successful years and we have helped them grow to 55 Python Developers, data scientist and engineers who have been busy building a first of its kind software product in the emerging space of Genomic Medicine. The majority of the team were based in Bristol, however due to covid moved to a remote first business and that's the plan for the future, however they are planning on getting together once a month later in the year.
About the role:
This role will be dedicated to working exclusively on a new service, which is backed by an Alpha-stage data platform, to develop specific analytical feature-sets for the clients. You'll interact with customers alongside SME's. The ULTIMATE goal will be to help establish the new service in the marketplace by creating the new, capabilities.
To move things forward we're looking for a contractor to come in and support at a lead level and join their talented engineering team to achieve their ambitious goals for the rest of this crazy year and beyond.
You will have a transformative impact by contributing significantly to the software of this new project as well as leading a high performing engineering team.
You will be expected to be a hands-on and always giving your team a high level of autonomy while assisting and mentoring them in a number of areas. They have created an inspiring team environment where ideas and knowledge are shared, and openness is valued.
What your background will look like:
- Experience with Python at a Senior or Lead Level.
- Experience building and designing scalable and performance systems and making significant contributions to the wider engineering goals of the company.
- Experience in software architecture patterns, database optimizations, infrastructure, scalability and deployment.
- If you are more fullstack and have experience with Typescript and React then woohoo they'd love that!
- Cloud experience big plus!
£500 p/d for 3 - 6 months (which will extend)
