Contract Assignment - Hosting Domain Architect
Reference - 12974
Day Rate - £500 - £575 per day Outside of IR35
Duration - 6 months initial contract
Start Date - ASAP
Location - Remote/onsite once Covid lifts
*Must have financial services experience*
Project tasks:
To work with a Hosting DA, the other Domain Architects and the members of Engineering team on the following initiatives and projects:

  • Support MttC ("Move to the Cloud) program
    • Application migrations to public cloud (Azure)
    • Application migrations to private cloud (PIaaS)
    • PIaaS product ownership activities including feature development support
  • Data centers migrations and closures
  • Development of hosting architectural documentation
  • Security remediation support (various projects)
  • Infrastructure currency updates
  • Hosting Operations support on as needed basis

This assignment will involve day to day interaction with PMs, Engineering, Operations and Information Security SME's working within the hosting initiatives and projects
The hosting platforms include, but not limited to:

  • Microsoft Azure PaaS, and IaaS
  • Red Hat OpenShift
  • Private cloud IaaS
  • On-premises hosting platforms including VMware, bare metal and IBM AS400

For the first months of the engagement, the role will be more involved in updating and producing architectural and project documentation and will evolve into design activities over time.
Skills & Attribute:

  • Technical experience:

Hands-on expertise in enterprise class compute, storage, networking and infrastructure security

Strong knowledge in:

  • VMware, MS Windows Server and RHEL Linux server OS
  • HPE ProLiant and Cisco UCS compute
  • NetApp and EMC storage
  • Cisco networking and security
  • F5 Networks load balancers

Practical skills with:

  • Configuration management (Puppet, Ansible)
  • IaC (Azure CLI, PowerShell, Git, YAML, JSON, Terraform)
  • Azure DevOps

Architectural skills:

  • Clear understanding of enterprise infrastructure hosting architectural concepts:
    • High Availability
    • Disaster Recovery
    • Data classification and data protection
    • Performance monitoring and observability
    • Hybrid and multi-cloud patterns

  • Ability to write Architectural Standards, HLD and LLD documentation and present solutions to technical and business audiences
