Data Centre Technician - Contract
Our global technology client are seeking a Data Centre Technician. You will be responsible for Server/network equipment troubleshooting and support, general Data Centre monitoring and maintenance, asset management and ongoing project assistance; Cable Infrastructure management.
You will work closely with client on site, and Facilities to complete new installations, server/network equipment moves, and cable patches (single mode fiber multi-mode Fiber, Copper, SFP+).
Responsibilities:
- Rack and stack installations
- Provide support for moves of data centre technology and switch equipment
- Multiple site support
- Server Installations/moves
- Server maintenance and repairs
- Basic Network equipment installation
- Asset management
- Cable Infrastructure management
- IDF room management
- Inventory Control
Experience required:
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Win2k, WinXP, MS Office Suite, Adobe Product Suite, networking protocols, and CM proprietary applications
- Sound troubleshooting skills for hardware and software
- Good time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- IT troubleshooting experience
- Ability to successfully work on a team
- Ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks
- Previous Customer Service experience (preferred)
