Role: Data Analyst (Finance)
Work location: Remote then 2/3 days in office (Welwyn Garden City)
Duration: 6 months (with the potential to be extended)
Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35 via an Umbrella Company)
My client is currently in the process of implementing Data management Standards across several Finance data products within the Finance Data and Insights Programme.
The Data analyst role will be responsible for ensuring that all critical data follows the Data Management standard thus improving the quality of the data within finance.
Responsibilities In this role:
- Capturing data lineage and identifying process pain points and inefficiencies
- Identifying critical data elements and coordinating with business units to assign data ownership and data definitions
- Engaging with data owners (business stakeholder) to document and unpick business rules
- Interfacing between users and technical development team to interpret business rules into data rules
- Working with data governance and architectural roles within the Data Management programme to advance Finance data management capabilities
An ideal candidate will have:
- Understanding of typical data management and governance best practises in a data-rich organisation
- Understanding the importance of authoritative data source and the need for controlled proliferation of data for downstream usage
- Experience in working with and feeding into enterprise data model(s) and data architecture
- Experience in managing and educating business stakeholders on data ownership and support data governance forums
