CONTEXT
Our client is a world-famous international organisation in Rome and has implemented Oracle Hyperion Budget Planning, which is used for the Budget Preparation cycle. A technical resource who also has competency in understanding business and functionality will be required during this period for user technical support.
We are seeking an experienced Hyperion Planning technical expert with extensive technical knowledge of the product as well as functional knowledge. The candidate should have full life cycle experience of a number of Hyperion Planning implementations.
Under the supervision of the ICT Solutions Coordinator, ICT, and the project manager, the successful candidate will serve as a technical expert, lead on Oracle Hyperion Planning, and be responsible for the deliverables listed below.
TASKS
- Provide technical solutions for the issues identified in Hyperion budget planning during the budget cycle (or the support period).
- Provide support for all enhancements available in Hyperion budget planning
- Support in resolving functional issues, including the proposal of technical solutions in the case of functional gaps in the application
- System and unit test such solutions prior to passing to the key users for user acceptance testing, including resolution of bugs identified
- Support key users during acceptance testing of solutions to issues
- Support in deployment of changes to the Production application, ensuring data integrity and minimum user impact.
- Provide deployment documents for all solutions.
- Provide detailed clarifications in the issue-reporting tool - cover both technical and functional perspectives.
- Provide support to ICT in identifying critical patches that must be applied to the application and database and ensure timely completion of same
- Provide support for the Hyperion-ODI integration
- Support ICT in maintenance of dimension members in case of any identified issues
- Support ICT during the refresh and upload processes for the Peoplesoft-Hyperion interface in case of any identified issues
- Provide technical support for any data issues incurred during the upload or refresh of data
- Ensure that system performance is acceptable for the client users. Provide solutions for the performance issues.
- Provide support and work closely with client to resolve infrastructure or database issues
- Provide knowledge transfer to the client's technical support team as required
- Provide support for data migration activities in production
- Provide support for the opening of the new financial year in Hyperion
- Provide support for the system configuration changes associated with the modifications of standard costs, IOGs, fund codes, budget periods, locations (city and country), standard costs etc. in case of any identified issues or configuration dependencies.
- ODI related system configuration changes such as mapping of countries, version etc. in case of any identified issues or configuration dependencies.
- Environment variable changes in case of any identified issues or configuration dependencies.
SKILLS
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline with at least seven years of professional work experience with Oracle Hyperion.
- At least 6 years of working in IT
- At least 4 years demonstrable full time hands on experience supporting and developing Hyperion Planning Applications
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in Hyperion Essbase (Calc scripts, Performance Tuning, troubleshooting)
- Demonstrable experience of developing and modifying business rules, calculation scripts, data load rules and Essbase substitution variables
- Experience of data integrations into Hyperion from other corporate systems, such as ERP data
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proven experience of troubleshooting and solving complex issues.
- Ability to document technical issues and their solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English essential.
Functional Requirements:
- Good knowledge of the Oracle Hyperion Product
- Good understanding of finance and budgeting process
