Connect Direct Engineer - IBM Sterling

This is a superb opportunity for an experienced, UK based Engineer with hands on experience with IBM's Sterling Connect:Direct to have an immediate impact.

Experience:
  • Sterling/IBM Connect:Direct (C:D)
  • Sterling/IBM Secure Proxy
  • Axway
  • Managed File Transport
  • Secure Transport
  • UNIX Shell Scripting
  • Rsync
  • File Transfer software; Connect:Direct, Sterling Secure Proxy and configurations
  • UNIX, Linux, network protocols, network hardware
  • Communications software/hardware security and supporting utilities and environmental software/hardware products
  • Change management, performance tuning and monitoring, problem diagnosis and root cause analysis as well as contingency planning
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, planning, and complex problem-solving skills to review and clarify user requirements, evaluate new technologies, and recommend programming strategies
Responsibilities:
  • Support test and production instances of Connect Direct and Sterling Secure Proxy
  • Resolve problems, and implement changes while adhering to incident and change management requirements
  • Provide high level technical support of file transfer software/hardware eg, Connect: Direct UNIX, Secure Proxy, Secure Transport, communications software/hardware, in a large, highly complex automated system managed environment
  • Communicate with other team members to determine failures; monitor transmissions, provide status on current environment and testing of current and new system infrastructure
