DevOps Engineer (Azure)
6 months rolling contract | London, WFH 2-3 days per week | £500pd outside IR35
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented DevOps Engineer to join a leading consultancy specialising in large-scale government digital transformations and help automate, build and support modern digital service platforms using Microsoft Azure public cloud technology.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a team - You'll work alongside colleagues in engineering, testing, consulting, product management and security capabilities to build, test and deploy software of the highest quality.
- Using technology for positive impact - You'll ensure the latest technologies are employed appropriately to extract maximum user and business benefit.
- Putting people first - you'll support your colleagues and foster a DevOps culture in all that you do.
- Finding your voice - As a respected voice within the team you'll ensure that services are scalable, secure, reliable and performant.
- Supporting services through Live Operation - Getting services into production is just the beginning with the fun truly starting when real users start interacting with the service you've built. You'll make sure the service is available, secure and performant as you strive to continuously improve it.
Skills & Experience:
- A proven ability of strong team skills, including working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good experience of at least one configuration management or automation tool.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Powershell, Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, Groovy.
- Demonstrable experience automating, building and supporting modern digital service platforms in production environments.
- Knowledge of modern version control systems including git.
- Strong experience of Azure (certifications would be an advantage)
- Experience debugging complex problems across multiple Servers, services and tools.
- Having used the latest Continuous Delivery techniques and tools to build, test and deploy software.
- Experience of cloud-native SaaS and PaaS technologies.
- Working knowledge of how to secure and monitor web services.
- Previous consultancy or UK public sector experience.
- Eligible for SC level security clearance (must have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years with no gaps of longer than 6 months)
