Description
Henderson Scott are urgently recruiting for a Drupal Architect to lead a key programme within our public sector client. This is an initial 3 month contract, outside of IR35. This is role will be largely/fully remote.
You'll help the organisation as itplans to move its current web presence from the existing SharePoint environment to Drupal. Alongside this, all subsites, which are currently hosted in a range of environments, some of which are external, will be brought in house and run alongside the main site. The organisation will also review its requirements for the Intranet and have a presence on the Drupal platform rather than existing SharePoint environment.
Key duties include:
Working with the existing team and a contract site builder to:
- Set and document architectural standards:
- Development tools and processes
- Drupal core and contributed modules use to create Drupal solutions in the organisation
- Custom development best practices, tools and methods
- Server architecture used for development, test and productions
- Deployment processes including tools, processes, roles and responsibilities
- Estimating metrics used by PM/SM to define level of effort and resources required to develop a Drupal solution in the organisation
- Translate business requirements into viable Drupal solutions (information and technical architecture)
- Sets and oversee the architectural standards on all projects
- Evaluate skills within the team, set development plans and coach and mentors team members on the use of standards
- Remain on current Drupal core and contributed modules and updates standards based on emerging capabilities, tools and trends
- Participate as the Drupal SME in key discussions with stakeholders and product owners
- Is the senior technical resource on all projects
- Works with PM/SM to ensure that projects artifacts are up to date
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive Drupal development experience
- Demonstrable expertise in Drupal architecture and Drupal application development
- Demonstrable expertise in server architecture (Apache, MySQL, Linux and PHP)
- Demonstrable expertise in estimation
- Demonstrable expertise and ability to mentor, coach and lead teams of developers
- Experience of GDS and Accessibility Standards and Regulations.
