Description
Junior Developer - Unix SQL wanted for our Zurich based client in the banking sector.Your experience/skills:
- 3+ years IT experience in application support ideally within the financial industry
- Competency in writing SQL queries, Unix commands and debugging procedures/functions
- Practice in software development with C++, Java, .Net, Perl, Python or any other programming language is advantageous
- Familiarity with ITIL framework, Kafka, Spring boot, Splunk, IBM MQ, Control-M and AppDynamics is beneficial
- Excellent debugging, problem solving and analytical skills in supporting software applications
- Understanding of databases particularly popular programing SQL DB platforms such as Oracle, Sybase or DB2
- Competency of Unix or Linux with recent experience of basic commands and scripting within Unix/Linux/Solaris using Shell, Perl , SED, AWK or Python
- University degree in Computer Science or Information Technology equivalent training and experience
- Languages: English, fluent in written and spoken
Your tasks:
- Working as 2nd level IT Support Analyst within our team in Operations IT
- Providing second level technical production support in the back office division
- Monitoring of user queries daily, investigating of issues and providing timely response to internal business users,
- Minimising potential application support problems through root cause analysis and monitoring
- Investigating and debugging logs and source code to find bugs and issues to be fixed by development teams
- Resolving system incident or events by providing out-of-hours technical support on rotation
- Using technologies such as Kafka, Spring boot, SPLUNK, IBM MQ, Control-M, and AppDynamics
