Electro-Mechanical Designer job #2655 – Cleveland area, Ohio

Local Cleveland area manufacturer is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Designer to fill a Temporary to Permanent position. Candidates should be prepared to become Permanent, should the Temporary stage go well.

 

Duties:

 

  • Design layout and detail drafting of new electro-mechanical products as well as correcting design problems in existing products.
  • Layouts to be complete and accurate as to critical tolerance areas, component requirements and placement, material selection, function, etc.
  • Originates ideas and concepts of designs.
  • Coordinates, assists, and directs efforts between Engineers and/or Sr. Designers and supporting Drafters.
  • Designs assemblies for best manufacturing process for components of design as to feasibility, cost, reliability, etc.
  • Specifies code requirements in designs to meet U.L., A.S.M.E., O.S.H.A., N.F.P.A., CE etc. as applicable by the design specs.
  • Provides engineering and technical assistance to Manufacturing, Service, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering, etc. on implementation of new drawings as to documentation problems and/or floor problems.
  • Performs all lower level design and drafting duties.
  • Is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of drawings; assists in the final drafting checking function and aids in securing all necessary approvals for all drawings produced under his/her supervision.
  • May be required to travel domestically and internationally.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Two-year Associate Degree or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years experience in Drafting and Design (mechanical and/or electrical).
  • A broad knowledge of Engineering and Drafting.
  • A substantial knowledge of materials, hardware and shop practices.
  • Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience using Pro-Engineer Computer Aided Design Package.
  • Standing, sitting, walking, bending, crouching, and lifting (70 lbs. maximum) during equipment testing.
  • Ability to travel is required.
