Due to strong continued growth our client has the need for a Senior Buyer to join its Brisbane based office. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work across a range of different sectors including mining and resources and oil and gas.
Reporting to the Manager of Purchasing, you will primarily be responsible for;
- Participating in the development and implementation of procurement strategies
- Identifying and advising relevant managers of commercial risks
- Participating in internal and external Supply Management presentations
- Identifying and selecting reliable sources of supply of materials, equipment and services to support project execution.
- Preparing purchase orders, control prices and quality and ensure delivery of materials and equipment to meet objectives.
- Providing agreed approvals and supporting documentation for payment of invoices.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering OR business OR similar
- 5 + years proven experience in a similar position
- Track record of providing supervision and running a group of people
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients
- Proficient understanding of data base management tools
