Description

Purpose of the role:
A contract Finance Manager is required within the Financial Control team following an internal promotion.

Specific responsibilities are dependent upon internal recruitment currently underway but will include:-
1. Full responsibility for a specific business managed within the team, including liaison with the relevant business personnel and potentially including preparation and/or presentation of financial results to the business.
2. Preparation of management accounts for a specific portfolio and/or review of business results ensuring that financial results for the business are correctly calculated and submitted both to the RBS general ledger and to the relevant RBS division.
3. Provision of analysis and information to assist business disposal activity plans
4. Control and production of management reporting information and meeting of all relevant monthly and quarterly reporting requirements in respect of assigned areas of responsibility
5. Involvement in the control and production activities of the team, specifically including production and review of company financial statements information and review of monthly reconciliations.
6. Team management in association with other Finance Managers and the Head of Financial Control

Deliverables:
* Delivery of monthly Flash results on time and to a high degree of accuracy, including variance analysis to budget/forecast
* Delivery of monthly and quarterly RBS reporting requirements in respect of specified entities, managing and reviewing submissions prepared by subordinate staff and ensuring the quality and accuracy of data submissions
* Support Decision Support and act as liaison point with the business in all aspects affecting BUC, including provision of MI packs as required
* Delivery of required accounting information in respect of disposal activity, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to enable the business to meet its disposal objectives.
* Control and review of reconciliations and financial statement working files prepared for lease transaction subsidiary companies, including preparation of complex transaction financial statements information
* Support the team in its wider project activities, undertaking such work as required to enable delivery of objectives

Essential:
*Experience of management of financial reporting, including experience of tight deadlines
*Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with strong technical skills
*Experienced in preparation of statutory accounts or similar disclosure requirements
*Familiar with issues associated with IAS accounting
*Good people skills, including supervision and review
*Strong team player, flexible in approach
