Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems. Their activities cover complete civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure.

They have a new and exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Support Engineer with experience of low volume Manufacturing processes required to work on process improvement, the implementation of new and modified processes and to provide general engineering support.
Knowledge of Satellite/Aerospace Manufacturing and Integration coupled with a good understanding of procedures and other supporting documentation preparation. Attention to detail and quality at all times is essential.
The candidate will be required to gather information from the current Engineers to write and streamline processes along with their own knowledge of Manufacturing.

Qualifications and skills:
Essential

  • HND/Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal - must have experience of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Previous Experience
Essential

  • Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Good understanding of mechanical terms and references
  • Proven experience of preparing process documentation, procedures and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of the FMEA process

Desirable
Experience within the Satellite manufacturing Industry would be a distinct advantage
