My client a famous Art Gallery in central Manchester requires a Visitor Assistant to assist in the provision of an efficient and effective visitor information service to promote Manchester and the North West of England. To contribute to income targets through sales of stock, tickets and tourist services.
Essential Skills.


Key Role Accountabilities:

To assimilate and present information in response to customer enquiries (face to face, telephone, fax, postal and e-mail enquiries).
To ensure a consistently high standard of presentation of stock and leaflets at self service points and within the gift shop, by replenishing self service points, presentation of stock and moving delivery boxes as and when required.
To work as a member of a team, as well as on own initiative, to assist in the smooth running of the Visitor Centre.
To undertake clerical duties such as invoicing, filing and photocopying as required.
To maintain and update visitor related statistics and to keep up to date with visitor attractions, activities and events in the area.
To monitor stock on a regular basis and inform management of deficiencies for ordering purposes.
To provide support for the provision of print and publicity to the Marketing & Visitor Services section.
To assist in the selling of stock and tickets, to provide a booking service for accommodation, transport and other related services.
To assist in the control of stock and maintenance of cash/till record systems.
To be aware of security arrangements and working procedures and to ensure areas of own work are in accordance with these.
To receive sympathetically any complaints pertaining to the tourism product that may be made.
To ensure that the highest standard of service is provided to customers, working to meet and exceed service standards.
To be prepared to work at various Marketing Manchester Information Centre locations, as and when required.
To work flexible hours, covering both regular weekends, bank holidays, and seasonal variations in opening times.
15. To carry out all duties with full regard to Marketing Manchester's equal opportunities policies.

To undertake, when necessary, any other duties required by senior management within working hours.
