CCCi has an opportunity for a Informix Database Administrator for a long term consulting engagement for one of our premier clients.Informix Database Administrator responsibilities
- Provide training to onsite and offshore Oracle DBAs, on differences between Oracle and Informix
- Analysis and administration of existing databases, versions, compatibilities
- Analysis of database linkages with applications and other interfaces if any.
- Database design and creation of new databases for new projects and migration.
- Implementing database replication methods and working on database restores.
- Support during cutover process.
- Performance evaluation of newly created databases in projects area.
- Proactive measurement and monitoring of databases.
Informix Database Administrator required skills include
- Minimum 8 years relevant experience on Database Administration
- Must have previous experience working on Production systems
- Strong experience with Database Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching is required
- Must possess Capacity planning and Storage Management Techniques as well as Database Performance analysis and Tuning experience
- Experience on HA is required
- Previous experience in Backup and Recovery Strategies, Managing Alerts and Notifications, and Cross platform migration is required
- Must possess knowledge of Replication, Cluster Maintenance (Failover/Fail-back) at the Operating System Level, and Managing Standby and Disaster Recovery
- Knowledge in Oracle Database Administration is desired
