Key Purpose of Role
Permanent in-house corporate web design position to assist the Senior Online Designer in producing merchandising creative and support marketing activities for the Online Business. Producing innovative, eye catching targeted emails and newsletters, taking designs from concept through to execution - including all testing and sending using insight from other marketing functions. Assisting Online Design Team with core business tasks. This is an opportunity to work with an established retail brand with growing online presence and to develop key commercial design skills.
Key Accountabilities and scope
Design and code HTML newsletters and marketing emails. Assist with online merchandising creative under the guidance of the Senior Designer that adheres to the Groups Online brand identities. Be aware of store merchandising material and presentation methods.
Key Skill Requirements
HTML & CSS: Should have a good understanding of HTML and CSS and be able to spot coding errors
Photoshop: Should be competent using Photoshop and have excellent image manipulation and retouching skills.
Design Skills: Must be literate in the areas of web design (including FTP) and have a sound knowledge of Windows and design applications including Photoshop and Dreamweaver, or similar.
HTML Emails: An understanding of HTML marketing emails would be an advantage.
Branding: Experience working within a brand identity would be a benefit.
Person Spec
A Degree or Diploma in Art & Design or Multimedia or 1 years commercial experience. Must be able to produce commercially orientated design that is customer focused with a good eye for detail. Have the ability to work as part of a team and be able to communicate well with both technical and editorial staff. Should have good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines. Have a good attitude towards the repetitive work that is required in this commercial role.
