Clearing Expense Management & Sourcing Analyst

We are recruiting on behalf of a premium investment bank seeking a Clearing Expense Management & Sourcing Analyst. The firm is focused on developing best practice category strategies to reduce the Firm's global brokerage, clearing and exchange expenses.

The primary purpose of this position is to analyse brokerage, clearing and exchange related spend, identify cost drivers and develop and document potential savings opportunities.

Responsibilities for the Clearing Expense Management & Sourcing Analyst will include:
* Support opportunity analysis activities including but not limited to:
o data collection, cleansing and validation
o define and verify assumptions and objectives
o cost analysis including base lining & sensitivity/scenario analyses
o isolate, define and document cost drivers
o identify savings opportunities
o develop recommendations for implementation
* Contribute to the design and documentation of methodology and templates/tools for inclusion in best practices manual for repeatability eg harmonized data structure, requirements capture, reporting & results measurement etc
* Effectively participate in cross functional working teams and identify & leverage spend and synergy opportunities across product groups and/or regions
* Develop category specific sourcing strategies by identifying opportunity areas such as standardization, supplier consolidation, demand management etc.
* Work closely with all internal customers to define business requirements & timelines, and demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and commercial/legal expertise
* Maintain accurate and up to date activity reports, metrics and contract records as required

To be considered for this Clearing Expense Management & Sourcing Analyst position, candidates will need to demonstrate the following:
* Ideally circa 5 years experience of business analytics
* Thorough experience and knowledge of brokerage, clearing and/or exchange industry or trading/operations experience (expense management focused ideally)
* Strategic sourcing and category management an advantage
* Technical knowledge and expertise in sourcing brokerage, clearing and exchange services
* Strong analytical & critical thinking skills, high degree of business acumen, effective project management and communication skills
* Degree (or equivalent level) in Business desirable.
