Description
This role is to provide support for our clients outsourcing activities. The main duties of the role will be to resolve IT infrastructure, Business application, Engineering application, Business Process and export contract issues, which will arise during the course of building a new Engineering design capability abroad.
Main duties
* Work with both sites to identify all Business and Engineering applications required for the UK based firm to collaborate with their colleagues abroad.
* For each application define a strategy which will enable the client to have access to the correct level of functionality and support.
* Define the procedures necessary for personnel to request access to applications.
* Liaise with Mechanical, Electronics, Project Management and Hardware Systems sections on all activities with the business abroad.
* Work with UK and international IT and Technical Services people, and with UK and US suppliers, to define a process whereby electronic library part data, and mechanical part data, can be supplied.
*Report back management on the progress against each application.
Experience and Knowledge
* An understanding of, and ability to apply, project management techniques
* Experience in at least one area from: systems analysis, business analysis or business process analysis.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Excellent team working and influencing skills.
* Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
* Flexible work style, ability to work under pressure and must be able to work on own initiative.
* Knowledge of US and UK Export Control Legislation as applied to Civil and Military technology.
Desirable:
Knowledge of/experience with:
* Electronics design.
* Electronic or Mechanical CAD packages ( in particular Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise Design Flow and Siemens NX ).
* Working within a large organisation.
* Project Lifecycle Management ( PLM ) or Project Data Management ( PDM ) applications ( In particular PTC Windchill v9.1 ).
