Location: Rochester, MI
The Client is the creator and host of an internet-based multi-dealer platform that features live and executable fixed income inventory, a treasury auction system, and a new issue system, all of which are focused in the retail market. Participants on the platform are broker-dealers who trade retail-oriented fixed income securities. Dealers (a.k.a. Contributors) contribute inventory to the platform and brokers (a.k.a. Distributors) search for, buy, and sell inventory offered on the platform on behalf of their retail clients. Contributors benefit by having access to BondDesks highly developed distribution network, and Distributors, in turn, benefit from their access to BondDesks quality co-mingled live inventory. Additionally, the platform is inclusive of both taxable and tax-exempt security offerings, and thus eliminates the traditional need for two distinct trading systems.
The Oracle Engineer-Developer works on the design, development, testing and maintenance of trading/order management system application.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Develop and maintain multi-platform applications and systems
Senior developer with strong PL/SQL skills. The client uses PL/SQL to handle much more complex code. The PL/SQL stored procedures the client uses is not just 'retrieve and store' data with some manipulation in it. They go much further embeding business and display logic into the code to produce HTML screens.
DW experience is not really required. I would say that a successful candidate would be able to design portions of a system.
Identifies and addresses functional issues
Adapt and extend existing re-usable components and libraries.
Develop high quality software while meeting deadlines
Assists with rollout and post production support
Qualifications
8+ years of software development experience, including design and implementation
In depth knowledge of Oracle (PL/SQL), JavaScript,
In depth experience working across multiple platforms (Unix/Linux)
Sun Unix (shell, scripts and editors)
Windows NT (shell, registry, desktop, system admin)
Ability to communicate ideas effectively, verbally and written format
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field

Financial background
Fixed income experience
IDEs (Microsoft Visual Studio, VC++6.0/.NET, IDEA, JDeveloper, TOAD)
