Job summary
The MS-SQL Database Administrator/Developer is responsible for writing complex stored procedures to extract, transform, and load data from OLTP and Datawarehouse environments. This individual will have a high level of technical ability, good project management skills, and a strong understanding of MS SQL Server 2008 RDMS.
Responsibilities
- Writing Transact-SQL statements, Stored Procedures, and Views using industry best practices for security and performance
- Development and automation of data extraction scripts (ETL processes)
- Managing Indexes - Indexing the database to ensure required indexes are present on all objects
- Making sure code complies with current company standards
- Creation and testing of scripts and execution plans
- Be capable of following established change control and version control processes and procedures
- Administers procedures and practices regarding data access and maintenance of databases
- Creates and maintains SSIS packages
Requirements
- 5-7 years of database development experience, with major responsibilities in a large enterprise environment supporting Microsoft SQL Server databases and related software
- Strong ETL, T-SQL, and SSIS skills
- Experience in writing procedures to load data into CSV/flat files and copying to external sources (FTP sites, etc.)
- Experience in Performance Tuning and index analysis with optimization.
Desired
- Microsoft MCTS, MCITP (SQL versions )
- Experience in Business Intelligence Analysis
- Working knowledge of Windows Server 2003, 2008, DNS, DHCP
