On behalf of one of our clients, a leading multinational company with its headquarters based in Los Angeles area, Talisman/Randstad is actively looking for a SAP Basis Specialist.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our client's Program leverages an extensive infrastructure that includes a large number of SAP systems. It is a challenging environment with a broad range of SAP Netweaver Components, including Web AS ABAP and Java. We intend to reinforce the SAP Basis Design team with a senior Basis resource who could assist the existing team.
Design installation and maintenance procedures, define technical architecture and standards for SAP systems used in our client's Program and running mainly on AIX/DB2 platforms. Examples: High availability architecture for the new Components; optimization for growth and performance; automation of routine maintenance tasks; monitoring and alerting procedures.
Document architecture, standards and procedures in clear English that can be followed by a large virtual and multi-cultural team. Communicate and train support teams regarding the use of these procedures.
Collaborate closely with functional teams responsible for SAP Components in question as well as other technical teams in the Business Technology Center for development and testing of solutions. Influence these teams to provide solutions required for the SAP platform and agree on appropriate standards.
Collaborate to define and maintain sizing models for the SAP Components. Automate complex or repetitive tasks in order to reduce execution time and human error, increase standardization in a large SAP landscape with several hundred systems.
In adherence to Change Management processes, promote changes throughout the SAP landscape and follow up on their progress. Follow the project life cycle methodology for implementation and deployment of larger changes.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- SAP Basis skills with experience of both SAP Web ABAP and Java in several SAP
- Experience with Java stacks
- Developed skills of AIX, DB2 (or very good knowledge of another Unix platform).
