Description

This is a 12 month fixed term contract. Working for a leading consultancy onsite with a major client of theirs. They are looking to appoint a Project Coordinator.

You will work as part of a project team that is focused on completing IT projects by achieving deliverables against service level requirements agreed by both the customer and the business. The role requires organisation and communication skills with Customers internal departments as well as other company departments and third parties as appropriate, and providing general support to the Customer project management function.

The role will include:
To liaise on a daily basis amongst others with:-

  • Project Manager
  • Customer User Managers and staff, Project Manager, and/or Project Office, as appropriate
  • Operations and/or Commissioning Centre, as appropriate
  • Third parties, as appropriate
  • Other IT Services functions, as appropriate.

To enable the following list of main activities to be achieved:-

  • The maintenance and operation of projects delivery schedules, such as installation, training, and equipment delivery, and the return of acceptance certificates
  • Keep up to date with progression of orders through procurement to ensure orders are correctly processed
  • Being a single point of contact for the project with customer on operational communications
  • Escalate issues to the Project Manager when necessary
  • Identify areas for improvement, as appropriate
  • Being aware of Equipment availability, in order to raise issues when necessary.
  • The organisation of delivery, pick up (old kit) and general logistics
  • To ensure processes and procedures are followed, and updated where necessary
  • To devise and operate "workarounds" where necessary
  • Ensure all details in Project Services database are correct and updated, as necessary.
  • Ensure all project reporting details available
  • Update of plans or identified documentation, as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
The jobholder will be expected to carry out a scheduling and logistics role, typically focussing on a specific set of tasks or activities within a project. They will have an ability to concentrate on multiple issues at any one point in time, rather than being singly focussed. They will need to be organised, lateral thinkers, practical and intelligent.
