ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:Performs a wide variety of tests on CDMA/WiMax/LTE mobile hotspots, USB modems, and Embedded modules (both standalone and in OEM platforms). These tests include carrier certification tests such as OMA/OTADM, MIP, Data Performance, Remote Diagnostics; OTA and conducted throughput; some hardware testing such as standby/talk time and IEEE/NAC; tools/configuration/PRI testing; and WiFi/USB testing.
RequirementsRequired Skills/Experience:
Successful applicant should have at least 5 years of system or integration test experience in the wireless industry, preferably on handsets or data modules in one or more of the following technologies: CDMA, WCDMA, UMTS, WiMax, LTE.
Hands-on test experience with Sprint and Verizon wireless modem/hotspot features and certification test required.
Candidate must have hands-on experience reviewing customer and internal specifications to create internal test plans and matrices.
Experience with logging and debugging tools such as QXDM, QPST, Wireshark, and Beceem Diagnostic Control Panel.
Understanding and working knowledge of standard network protocols, routers, IS-95, CDMA2000 and 1xEV-DO.
Experience with Windows, Apple (MacOS, iPhone, iPad), and Android operating systems.
Experience with debugging defects, reporting them with proper format, and working with developers on resolving issues.
Desired Skills:
Hands-on test experience with 802.11 b/g/n highly desirable.
Experience with Anite, Spirent, Agilent test systems for WiMax/CDMA/LTE a plus.
Occasional travel or field testing might be required. (This person will be a passenger in a Sierra Wireless-owned vehicle (with a full employee driving) doing occasional field testing.)
