Marketing analyst required to support data-driven sales and marketing activity by delivering descriptive and predictive analyses as required. You will work with the Marketing Analytics Manager to develop in-house marketing analysis capability and will contribute to the ongoing development of the marketing Datawarehouse and marketing analysis tools

Main responsibilities of the job
* Work with sales and marketing managers to identify, scope and structure potential analysis projects to deliver commercial benefits
* Deliver descriptive and predictive analyses of customer, product, transaction and usage data to support sales and marketing functions (plus other stakeholders within the business)
* Work with the Marketing Data team and the Business Systems teams to ensure that analysis outputs are available to drive sales and marketing activity
* Review external data sources to assess likely business value
* Design and implement marketing analysis workflow and benefit-tracking procedures
* Contribute to the development of marketing data systems and analysis tools, including requirements specification and testing
* Contribute to cross-functional projects that require (or impact upon) marketing analysis, as directed by the Marketing Analytics Manager

Essential skills:
* Highly numerate
* Statistical and mathematical modelling and analysis
* Enquiring, investigative mindset

* Strong understanding of relational database structures
* Understanding of data handling principles
* Ability to explain complex techniques and results to non-specialists
* Good degree with high mathematical content (maths, stats, econometrics etc.)
* Hands-on experience of predictive and descriptive analysis in a marketing environment
* Demonstrable experience and understanding of:
o Targeting models
o Segmentation modelling
o Campaign analysis
* SQL
* Statistical modelling software
* MS Office suite (esp. Access & Excel)

Desirable skills:
* People management skills
* Higher degree
* Broad understanding of the Data Protection Act and related legislation and regulation
* Substantial experience of building relationships with internal customers
* B2B experience
* Publishing and/or legal sector
