Targeted Skills & Competencies:Senior Front-office specialist in software development and design, with 10+ years of financial industry experience in Fixed Income Trading System.• Expertise in designing and developing Front Office applications to accommodate the workflows and decision making process of Fixed Income Portfolio Managers and Traders using high availability Charles River trading system• Strong industry knowledge, including fixed income instruments, trading workflows, and compliance. • Develops using knowledge of Wall Street institutions and securities processing, ie, Bloombe rg, SunGard, BONY, IDC, Reuters, SIAC, etc. • Performs security analytics, ie, OAS, risk metrics, bond math, performance attribution, etc. This postion will be part of the team to facilitate these system solutions and support Asset Management's Fixed Income initiatives. We are seeking someone who will be an advocate of technology and provide the support within the Front, Middle and Back Office Fixed Income teams. This role requires the ability to understand both the technical and business requirements across Fixed Income. Responsibilities include implementating both vendor and in house solutions, This role will be active in efforts to ensure a high level of data quality which will include data analysis, creation of scrubbing and augmentation rules and data quality reporting. Candidates need to demonstrate an understanding of how technology can be leveraged to address the objectives of the business partner. Candidates with an entrepreneurial and creative mindset tempered by the practicality of knowing what it takes to get things done in a large organization and the ability to define and implement incremental deliverables that provide immediate value will be highly prized. This position requires an individual who can understand the vision and can get it done.
Expected Responsibilities:-Evaluates and implements new initiatives on process improvement and technology initiatives. • Excels at analyzing functional needs that drive the analysis and technical design of quality technical solutions; recommends solutions that are aligned with business/IT strategies and complies with corporate architectural standards. • Serves as SME in all aspects of systems/applications software technology and/or application components. • Resolves application and technical problems of the highest complexity. • Leads interdepartmental or interdivisional operational project initiatives. • Analyzes performance and capacity issues of the highest complexity with systems/applications software and/or application components. • Continuously cultivates knowledge of emerging technologies. • Provides mentoring and training to junior staff. • Serves as initial point of escalation for all processing and operational issues. • Assists management in coordinating business area activities and balancing workload. • May design, implement and improve workflows, as well as assign projects. • Excels at working collaboratively with IT staff on development, troubleshooting, and other technical efforts. • Performs software architecture and systems design. • Translates business requirements into functional/technical specifications; oversees implementation of these specifications
Tasks and Responsibilities:Tasks and Responsibilities: • Excellent knowledge of programming/systems analysis, as well as quality assurance, prototyping, construction, integration, and migration functions; possesses an excellent understanding of programming languages, development tools, and the current environment. • Displays problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve technical problems; possesses an excellent understanding of business requirements and IT strategies. • Draws on extensive knowledge base (eg, infrastructure, technology, and applications) to analyze problems of the greatest complexity and contribute to troubleshooting efforts. • Leverages excellent design understanding and/or capabilities (eg, database, application code, reusable objects, and interfaces) to optimize development efforts in a distributed environment. • Adept at understanding operational nuances across multiple business units/functional areas. • Responsible for supervising more junior staff in the execution of projects. • May serve as back-up for manager. • May have involvement with the business during its strategic planning and budget cycles to leverage knowledge and anticipate technology transformation potential from a customer perspective; may provide buy vs. build recommendations or assist in platform determination. Required education/experience: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. • 10 plus years of IT work experience in systems programming/analysis • Typically experienced across multiple Information Technology areas and all system/applications software development. • Serves as point of escalation for complex issues. • Responsible for developing and executing project plans, as well as coordinating groups of IT staff.
Suggested Experience & Qualifications:B.S. or B.A. in Business, Economics, Math, Engineering , Computer Science or other quantitative discipline from an accredited school. M.B.A. or M.S. degree in Business, Economics, Math, Computer Science or other quantitative discipline is a plus. Strong written and oral skills. Must be a US Citizen or possess a Green Card. Must be experienced with: MS Office Suite. Personal qualities: Possess a strong work ethic, self-starter, creative, a focus on customer service, possess a high level of energy, enthusiasm, have good communication and people skills, team player, strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, commitment and appreciate the application of technology in support of our business. Knowledge of the Investment Management business with emphasis on experience dealing with Fixed Income Trading and Portfolio Management related areas 3+ years of Experience in Oracle, Unix shell, Perl. Java & Autosys . 5+ years of experience in CRD, Fixed Income trading. Oracle 11g in Linux and Perl is preferred
