Based in Kent our client is urgently seeking an opto mechanical design engineer on an initial 3 month contract with the view to extend, working within the Opto-Mechanical systems team and with optical, electronic and Systems Engineers to develop working designs for optical systems from initial concept to detailed final design using 3D modelling tools.
Key Requirements:
Mounting optical components, lenses, mirrors, prisms, filters, detectors etc, kinematic mounting principles
Mechanical design using 3D CAD
Integration and test
Extensive experience of mechanical testing
Competent user of leading FEA package (Patran/Nastran/Solidworks Simulation/ANSYS or similar)
Competent use of CAD (SolidWorks or Similar)
A good understanding of the principles of FEA
Confidence to solve stress, kinematics, vibration and thermal analysis issues
