The Job: Classification Specialist (contractor)

Primary Job Responsibilities
The maintenance of the category structure is key to ensure an outstanding user experience. The Classification specialist is in charge of running different types of research initiatives to make sure eBay's EU classification structure is up to date and is representative of how users would browse for the products they are looking for. The Classification specialist will also receive, prioritise and implement change requests originated from different teams who are stakeholders of the classification structure.
-Research into specific categories to identify gaps in the classification structure.
-Complete data designs for new category structure.
-Liaise with US counterparts to collaborate on designs.
-Take on all aspects of the category change process including the maintenance of category change submission sheets, billing updates, coordination on attributes changes, QA and comms updates.
-Work with US counterparts to co-ordinate SR category changes.
-Work with Classification Manager to maintain the Category change roadmap.

Job Requirements
-Bachelor's degree. Open to all degree backgrounds, but strong numeracy skills necessary
-Analytical, organised and highly detail oriented
-Proficiency in MS Office set of tools
-Familiarity with eBay site and business
-Strong customer focus
-MBA, Masters and PhDs would be beneficial.
