General Job Duties:
- Participate as part of project teams in designing, developing and implementing networking technologies for the business.
- Participate in developing guidelines and procedures for Security LAN/WANs, network services, security services and in communicating those to the user community.
- Provide technical support and problem resolution on moderately complex issues in one or more of the following areas: networking, storage, architecture or desktop environment.
- Manage small to medium-sized projects or portions of large projects and assist in resolving issues and planning for new applications and services.
- Establishes program budget and timelines for small to medium-sized programs or portions of a program; manage assigned segment of program within budget and time constraints.
- Monitor and report to management on program status, identify issues that may impede attainment of goals, recommend and implement corrective measures.
- Provide technical direction and training to more junior Technical Services personnel.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining Security & Cisco local and wide area networking infrastructure.
- Provides recommendations on Security workflow and design enhancements to the infrastructure to improve reliability and performance, reduce cost, and anticipate Company growth and acquisitions
- Work closely with the Engineering team to implement solutions that have been fully designed and tested
- Responsibilities will include Security, Level 2&3 support and monitoring of data networks, including WAN, LAN, and Wireless on a Cisco network
- Routinely audit and document network diagrams and configuration information
- Work with business management to understand networking requirements and help in preparing report templates for scheduling and explanation
- Troubleshoot Security, networking issues as needed on a tier 2&3 basis.
Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of Check Point software NGX R65 or later running on SPLAT or Nokia IP security gateways in a distributed cluster or single enforcement point deployment
- Solid understanding of Security best practices
- Working knowledge of Cisco ASA/PIX clustered and standalone deployments, Cisco ACE, Juniper SSL Portal, Infoblox DNS appliances and Microsoft DNS
- Solid understanding of networking technologies: OSI Model, Switching, IP Routing, IP Subnetting, TCP/IP protocol, VPNs, DNS, Router ACLs, and NAT
- Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
- 5 + years of experience in local, wide area networking
- DNS experience preferred
- Load Balancer Experience preferred
- Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
- Cisco and/or other equipment Certification(s) preferred
