Description
Our client, a leading retail bank, is looking to recruit a Senior Risk Officer, to establish and implement a robust payment risk control framework as a means of developing a more holistic approach to managing and mitigating operational risk, and addressing growing customer, shareholder and regulatory expectations in this field.The jobholder will play a key role in supporting the Head of Function, implementing and managing an upgraded internal control framework that promotes a strong self assessment culture and ownership by the line managers across the Department. This will also involve working closely with all GP Controls managers, departmental team leaders and peers within the GP Risk and Controls Group.
Specific elements of the internal control function include:
Establishment and ongoing oversight of Global Payments wide Risk Control Assessment (RCA) process
Annual walkthrough of the departmental processes and refresh of the RCA
Identification of new and emerging risks and design of suitable yet commercial control environment to provide protection
Identification and resolution of control issues and themes including managing the resolution of audit and other BU control issues (CIGLS/CICLS etc)
Act as an escalation point and point of contact for the Business aligned control teams
Review the quality and consistency of the implementation of the Control framework across Payment Operations
Develop and implement transparent and consistent reporting across each unit which includes Attestations, issue management, auto observation tracking, incident reporting, testing,
Establish consolidated control reporting and ensure consistency, quality, completeness and accuracy of control reporting
Interact with the key framework stakeholders - Operational Risk, Operational Control, Audit, Finance (SOX), Legal and compliance
Ensure Governance oversight is in place in each business area around the management of Issues, Observations, Testing, and Incidents
