Our client is an excellent environmental regulator, helping business and industry to understand their environmental responsibilities, enabling customers to comply with legislation and good practice and to realise the many economic benefits of good environmental practice.

They are looking for someone with experience of working within a UKAS accredited laboratory who has experience of conducting internal audits against ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/IEC 17025.

Experience of ISO14001 would be an advantage but is not essential.

The responsibilities are to undertake a programme of internal auditing activities:
o Assess compliance against SEPA's Quality Management System ISO9001 and ISO 17025
o Document audit report
o Agree findings with appropriate staff and raise corrective actions/non- conformances as appropriate

To fulfil these requirements you must have an IRCA registered Quality auditor certificate, experience of working within a UKAS accredited laboratory, excellent communication and presentation skills. Ideally the candidate should have a degree in a science related subject preferably Chemistry.

Preferred base is Edinburgh. Other locations may be considered if necessary eg East Kilbride or Aberdeen

There will be some travel requirements and possibly some overnight stays in order to conduct audits in other client locations. These will generally be via public transport and appropriate travel and subsistence costs will be paid by our client.

All Contract Staff must have at least Basic Disclosure

35 hour week with flexitime arrangement equivalent to internal staff. Between 9:00 and 17:30
