Purpose of role:
This role is responsible for:
*leading cost management in Consumer Affairs across all Business Units.
*Working across multiple businesses and functions to embed and manage the budget timelines and process.
*Providing oversight and insight into Consumer affairs operating costs spanning across, tech, projects and operational expense.
*Evaluate financial impact of options and decisions in proactive remediation TOM.
*Own forecast for tech & project spend across cluster.
*Manage month end across business Unit.
*Liaise & integrate with multiple areas across Symphony including operational planning, local finance teams, IT, programme office & operational stakeholders.
*Primary point of contact for business.
Main Accountabilities and approximate time split
*Deliver insight into cost performance on a monthly basis.
*Work with the Reporting Manager to develop & build on comprehensive reporting packs
*Provide impact assessments on options/decisions made by the project
*Work closely with HR to define resource constraints and reporting structure
*Manage two individuals in the execution of cost management in delivering effective performance management & development reviews.
*Develop and agree standardised forecast models to be used in each component of cost forecasting.
*Liaise with control on monthly basis to ensure accounts maintained and cleared against provision in transparent agreed way.
*Understand the end-to-end operational processes and links to strategy & policy
Essential
*Essential - Qualified Accountant
*Experience of finance in large, financial services organisation
*Preferred - Retail Banking or Credit Card experience
