Storage Engineer/Architect - Stamford, CT USA
My Financial client is seeking an experienced Storage Engineer/Architect who will play a critical role in the design, assessment, implementation, and management of storage service solutions.
Experience Required
* Leverage knowledge of storage arrays, storage area network architecture and configuration, storage element creation and presentation, storage-related security, storage network configuration, array-based data replication, enterprise storage management, and backup architecture and practices in developing and implementing a world-class storage solution
* Conduct storage architecture analysis ranging across multiple technologies (NAS, SAN, tape, etc) and vendors (EMC and NetApp)
* Assess existing architecture; identify issues, risks, and opportunities relating to current plan, recommending improvements as identified
* Design, build, and implement flexible and scalable storage and backup solutions; documenting requirements, architecture, and schedule
* Incorporate DR requirements and needs into the storage/backup design
* Identify performance requirements and constraints
* Represent all areas of storage-related efforts to management, as necessary
* Support other business areas as requested - representing the storage team
Preferred Skill Set:
* Previous experience as a SAN Architect or Systems Engineer administering a storage environment, providing strategy and direction for the storage systems, monitoring and logging of systems, and managing EMC and NetApp Storage Solutions
* Experience with storage systems and subsystems configuration and architecture
* In-depth experience with enterprise level backup environment configuration and architecture
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
