JOB SUMMARY:
Work with senior System Analysts, System Designers/Developers and ETL Developers to design and develop database structures associated with a new analytical rules based predictive modeling system. The primary efforts associated with this engagement will be to utilize systems and tools provided with the InfoSphere Warehouse (Enterprise Edition) to create data stores for use by Cognos, SPSS (Predictive Modeling software) and ILOG JRules (Rule Engine).
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter who has substantial experience with design and creation of new databases in DB2 and is a solid SQL developer. We're looking for a hands on Data Architect/Developer who can demonstrate mature data modeling and SQL development skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Using InfoSphere Warehouse (Enterprise Edition), Design and develop new database systems
Work with System Analysts, ETL Developers, System Designers/Developers to create an optimal data storage schema which provides the right balance of speed vs. storage efficiency given the system requirements.
GENERAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Significant experience with DB2. Preferable later version 9.x.
Experience with DB2 Database Partitioning
Experience with InfoSphere design studio
Strong experience with relational and dimensional modeling.
Strong data analysis skills and experience with metadata management.
Strong SQL development.
Experience in creating logical data models and physical data models using various tools, eg, ErWin, Enterprise Architect, Sybase Power Designer, etc.
Knowledge of principles, techniques and best practices of data governance and master data management.
Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle.
Customer oriented.
Ability to communicate well with the business and conduct requirement analysis.
Ability to work well in a team environment with a geographically dispersed team.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Dedicated to completing assigned tasks and delivering high quality software under deadline.
Ability to learn and apply new technologies and programming languages as required.
Highly motivated to develop mortgage business knowledge.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
At least 4 years experience with DB2.
At least 3 years of experience using DB2-SQL stored procedures, functions, etc.
At least 3 years data modeling experience.
At least 1 year of experience using InfoSphere Warehouse
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
4-year Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fields.
At least 5 years of DB2 experience.
At least 5 years of DB2-SQL experience.
