Project Coordinator

This position provides analytical support to a project or department. Under the guidance of a Project Manager/Director, responsible for collecting and researching data, performing analysis, providing recommendations and presenting results.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for providing analytical support to a project or department. This position handles a full range of project components in an independent and autonomous manner. Organizes project tasks, structures information collection activities, and sets time lines for completion of required tasks.
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office software, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
• Develops reports on analysis conducted, provides recommendations and makes formal presentations to communicate results to various management levels. Develops new approaches for finding additional needed information.
• Demonstrates initiative in identifying alternative solutions to issues in the project or department which are reasonably complex and require an understanding of how the outcome will affect multiple areas/departments.
• Helps develop project plans to ensure timely deliverables and successful completion of project. Assists in assessing workforce needs resulting from project implementation.
• Assists in identifying and developing performance management and training tools. Develops mechanism by which to track project best practices in order to ensure these are leveraged into comparable future projects.
• Conducts analysis of client business processes and functional requirements and prepares appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
• Completes administrative requirements in an accurate and timely manner (eg time reporting, status reporting, weekly project team meetings, etc.).
• Consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (client’s Code of Conduct by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and client’s policies and procedures.

Level of Education:
Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience required in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Computer Science or related field.

Level of Experience:
• 1-3 years of related experience
• Strong project organizational skills.
• Strong skills required in critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions (eg, partnering, conflict management, consulting, etc.).
• Understanding of health care business and care delivery processes preferred. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
Top 3-5 required skills: Excellent communication skills (written/spoken) MS Office 2007 (particularly with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio, MS Project, MS PowerPoint) Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work Top 3-5 daily responsibilities: Written and verbal communication/follow-up with Project Managers, and Project Team members, as necessary Scheduling Meetings (facilitating, capturing meeting minutes and action items) Creation/maintenance of excel spreadsheets, status reports, Powerpoint presentations, project plans, as requested by the Project Managers Top 3-5 desired skills: Excellent communication skills (written/spoken) MS Office 2007 (particularly with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio, MS Project, MS PowerPoint) Excellent organizational skills Type of background you are looking for: This role will require that the person has experience supporting multiple concurrent projects. Interfacing with internal project members (business side, as well as technical team), and also external clients. Highly proficient in utilizing Excel for data management (spreadsheets used for tracking information, action items, etc). Experience communicating via email or by phone with Executive-level staff. Constant follow-up and follow-through to ensure closure of action items. Researching information as needed by the Project Managers. Experience as a project coordinator on software development projects. Size of the team: On a given project, there may be between 5 - 10 staff. Information on the project: There are multiple ongoing projects, some ranging from small internal projects, to larger scale enterprise-wide projects. Must have experience working in a fast-paced environment. Educational requirements, is a degree required? Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience in healthcare is not mandatory, but definitely a plus. Put this at the lower end of the requirements scale
