Our client in Boston is looking for a Business Analyst.
Must have minimum 8 to 10 years experience in project implementations with 5+ years of strong Analyst or Project Management experience, with demonstrated use of the project life-cycle, requirements gathering, and analysis; including tools and methodologies.
Candidates need to have a BA or BS degree in Systems, IT, Business Management, or related degree. Masters degree a plus
Must have supported multiple large complex initiatives at the enterprise level in a technical environment.
Must have demonstrated ability to manage requirements and implementation activities on large-scale cross-divisional projects using a defined SDLC process and requirements methodology in a (primarily) outsourced environment.
Health Care experience required.
Must have a concrete understanding of relational database concepts.
SQL experience required.
Experience with database query tools required.
Experience in data modeling, data warehouse, and Business Intelligence a plus.
Experience with data mapping, data validation a plus.
Health Care Business Informatics a Plus
Business Analyst Professional Certification and/or Business Analyst Certificate are plusses.

Role:
Position works in conjunction with Program and Project Managers, IT and Business leaders, to deliver business and technical requirements as well as provide SDLC support for IT programs/projects
Project Initiation duties:
Assists in the definition, clarification, and validation of project scope
Assists with project kick off documentation and meetings

Requirements:

Develops and documents all system and functional requirements for new or changing applications, utilizing varying techniques such as in-person interviews and JAD sessions
Responsible for requirements socialization and obtains business and IT approvals.
Responsible for Business Process analysis for existing and to-be processes.
Serve as a consultant to business units and IT project management, in planning and coordinating systems analysis, design, testing, and implementation activities.
Participate in design review discussions offering particular input regarding business requirements.
Testing responsibilities:

Coordinates test plan creation with the business and test leads
Creates traceability matrixes to ensure requirements are properly translated into test cases/use cases
Participates in test results meeting and executes traceability activities to determine cause of bugs, systems errors and failures during testing
Execute Systems & Integration testing, as needed.

Implementation:
Documents, coordinates and organizes production readiness
Supports project through all production and post-production milestones as necessary
May provide support for production applications including: issue analysis; coordination with business to define issue; root cause analysis, coordination with Technical team to resolve; verification of resolution
Assists PM with project team meetings

Qualifications:

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Able to build and foster collaborative relationships at peer levels within and outside of IT.
Must be able to articulate and gain consensus on project objectives, and plans within the project team.
Able to clearly communicate business concepts and drivers to project resources.
Self-directed, works well independently and in teams. Seeks and develops suggestions from others.
Must have a professional and positive attitude.
Must be proficient in MS office suite, including MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
Must have demonstrated experience with business requirements practices and methodologies
Must have demonstrated experience with SDLC lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall or Agile)
Able to Manage requirements gathering for IT portfolio projects
Able to Work with business management and IT project management in supporting the business goals by researching and assessing business needs, establishing clear project requirements and associated project goals.
Can participate in the RFI/RFP process and recommend vendor selections based on business and technical needs
Can provide direction for project managers and cross-functional teams in developing and executing requirements acquisition, development and implementation consistent with PMO/SDLC and Business methodology standards
Can provide clear communication on a regular basis on project requirements status to stakeholders.
Can work with business units and IT to identify, prioritize & scope development initiatives as they relate to strategic business goals.
