This is a new role for a VMware/virtualisation and storage engineer to work within the CBD. This role offers a rare opportunity to gain exposure to a large range of technologies including Xen, Netapp, SAN, Debian/Redhat Linux and Windows . There is a very enjoyable team environment to become a part of.

The Role:
Minimum 3 years commercial experience

  • Virtualisation (VMware ESX, vSphere and Xen)
  • Storage (Netapp, SAN)
  • Linux/Windows
  • Hosting Technologies (Apache, MySQL, exim/postfix, DB Servers, cpanel highly regarded)
  • Experience with installation and administration of Virtual Infrastructure (VMWare VI 4.x, HyperV, XenServer Environments)
  • Work with clients and account managers to set roadmap and to act as escalation point

Experience:

  • Proactive Consulting and Client Management skills with the ability to read analyse and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • You have worked in various IT infrastructure environments and have the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to deal with a variety of clients and different technologies and will have a desire to learn new things as well as the ability to work unsupervised
