Description

This position requires an operations/networking background, specifically with a change management, planning and execution focus. A strong theoretical understanding of IP technology, including IP configuration and routing protocol fundamentals, with a solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols is necessary. The position will require technical expertise and experience implementing Layer 3 technology configurations, S/W feature releases, all aspects of H/W capacity upgrades and code upgrades on the AT&T Global Network (AGN) backbone.

This position is required to support but is not limited to: Knowledge and experience of Cisco Routers (Inc. CRS-1, GSR 12000, RPM-PR, RPM-XFL, 3500, 2900 & 2800) & Juniper Routers (M320, T640, MX960) understanding associated hardware, software and configurations related to these platforms.

Candidates applying for this position will need to possess a broad knowledge & skill set in OSI Layer 3 which include but not limited to : Skilled in TCP/IP and IP routing protocols with strong working knowledge and experience of IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS/LDP & VPN principles. A working understanding of JunOS, IOS & IOS-XR code and CLI. In addition, a strong understanding of OSI Layers 1 & 2 including an understanding of DWDM, Sonet/SDH, T3/E3, T1/E1, Ethernet, FR and ATM technology. Familiarity and a working knowledge of NRC tools including AOTS-CM/TM, RUBY, INSTAR, WMS, ICORE would be beneficial.

The candidate will be a highly motivated team player; a self-starter who demonstrates the ability to think independently and analytically, working as part of a team and individually, possessing the skills to priorities work plans based on importance and urgency. They must demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to engage with AT&T technical teams and external vendors; communicating technical issues and roadblocks with peers and management.

The candidate will be required to provide out of hours (OOHs) and maintenance window support for network changes in this position on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications:
1) TCP/IP expert, BGP, OSPF, Cisco routers, principle Expert Required 2) Project Mgmt. Intermediate Required 3) Exp.configuring/troubleshooting OSPF, BGP, MPL Expert Required 4) Exp.working on 7500 and 12000 series Cisco Routers Expert Required 5) Must have worked Juniper M Series Intermediate Required Required Certifications: CCNA
