Electrical Design Engineer, UK & Asia
Electrical Engineer with sound basic principles in electrical engineering and electrical design to work for the Oil & Gas division of this leading and award winning Engineering firm who has recently been acquired by a global company whose sales and revenues in the last year exceeded £35 billion. The company are now looking for a top quality, degree educated, Electrical Engineer. You'll be part of an exciting global network of Engineers working as the leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
With hands-on Electrical Engineering experience you will be required to work on projects supporting the rapid growth of new products within Oil & Gas. Must have a degree and a minimum 6yrs commercial experience with good understanding of Electrical design principals. Working on large mechanical diesel vehicles & equipment you will be a competent and experienced Electrical Engineer.
Your role will be specifically covering:
- programmable logic,
- basic electrical circuits,
- understanding of equipment design (including wiring and diagrams in Inventor or similar CAD package)
- configuration and support of PLC's, SCADA and DCS

Reporting to the Electronics/Electrical Engineering Manager and working closely with the commercial and engineering project teams the successful Electrical Engineer will be working on exciting projects and new product design. Based around heavy diesel engines or rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors etc. you will ideally come from an electrical design background. Aerospace/Automotive/Defence/Oil & Gas could be a useful foundation for the role.
With Electrical experience in some of the following we would like to speak with you: Schematic capture, Inventor, AutoCAD, simulation, analogue design, digital design, power electronics, power dissipation calculations, EMC, programmable logic devices, Microprocessor & PIC, PLC, CANBUS, use of oscilloscope, DVM, logic analyser, design standards.
