DESCRIPTIONThe QA Team Lead will set test strategy and work closely with team members to execute the plan. Cooperate with existing IT leadership and project leadership to develop a strategy. Share expertise and guidance on what tools are available and would best fit the needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with selection of automated testing tools.
- Act as an expert, value-added resource.
- Perform manual and automated testing on developed software.
- Consult with developers and clients about software system design and requirements.
- Interact with other members of the team (other consultants and internal developers, analysts, project managers, testers, etc) to deliver requirements according to budget and schedule.
- Provide coaching for team members regarding technical aspects of testing and tools.
- Provide mentoring and guidance for an agile approach to application development
- Facilitate defect tracking and defect resolution priority setting
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- 5+ years experience in Quality Assurance and Testing
- 3+ years in a team lead or management role
- Must be willing to do some testing themselves according to project needs
- Strong understanding of Agile concepts, specifically Scrum
- Experience with Agile testing
- Previous development experience or knowledge of Java environments
- Bachelor's in Engineering/Science or Mathematics (Computer Science preferred)
- Passion for QA and testing
- Attention to detail, effective communicator, and focus on quality
- Quick learner of technology solution and business operations.
- Have a technical background and should be familiar with both manual and automated testing tools and best practices
- Able to develop detailed test plans for all aspects of the web application, which are both efficient and thorough
- Good communication skills to be able to add value to planning, work with technical developers, and explain testing in business terms to the user acceptance testers
- Experience providing direction and mentorship for other testers in the QA team
- Able to bring together a brand new team from diverse backgrounds and enable them to work together cohesively
- Familiar with agile and scrum principles and be able to guide a new team into the testing aspects of this style of application development
