Our large financial services client in Edinburgh is currently looking for an experienced commercial manager to work as part of a growing team who are responsible for shaping relationships with existing and new suppliers and partners.

This role requires someone with knowledge and experience of acquisition, product management and stakeholder management as well as an understanding of the costs and benefits associated with new product development. Experience of contract negotiations, management of projected costs and budgets and the ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction are all key. Managing relationships with external stakeholders including other financial services companies and service providers will be a major part of this role so strong communication skills including the ability to influence and negotiate are essential.

In terms of specific experience, you should have previous experience of working within the payments industry and understand the commercial terms and governance involved in payment schemes. Provided you have this experience, you should, therefore, have an understanding of the parties and rules involved. In addition to this, knowledge of card issuing, pre-paid cards, debit cards or credit card products would be extremely beneficial.
