San Mateo Senior Business Consultant
The San Mateo Senior Business Consultant works with our medical center business partners/customers to understand strategic direction and priorities of their business and to ensure successful delivery of IT solutions and services. The Senior Business Consultant reports to the Area Information Officer and Lead Business Consultants of the San Mateo Area.
The San Mateo area is composed of South San Francisco and Redwood City Medical Centers and the Daly City, Bayhill and San Bruno Medical Office Buildings. The position will be based at the South San Francisco Medical Center and travel is required within the San Mateo area.
The position of Business Consultant will engage in, not limited to, the following activities:
Work collaboratively with our business partners and IT across the medical center and organization to address business problems that are in need of technology solutions, support technology initiatives and address IT service issues
Monitor and track activities and the implementations of new projects being deployed within the San Mateo area.
Build a solid working relationship with business customers and staff.
Be able to learn new technical tools quickly (Remedy, NIKU, etc.)
Conducts and/or participates in the analysis of client business processes and functional requirements and in the preparation of appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
Conducts workflows, process diagrams and gap analysis
Identifies overlaps and related processes
Collects and analyzes data, reports and monitors performance of IT operations to service level agreements
Performs and evaluates risks
Communicates and escalates issues
Attends local medical center committees representing the organization as needed
Under the direction of the AIO or Lead Business Consultant initiates and supports analysis of IT related support issues
Have the ability to work & communicate well with customers and staff at all levels of the organization in support of team projects/environments.
Have the ability to work with constant change and new processes.
Able to function with minimal oversight and direction.
Strong ability to communicate effectively as a consultant in conducting, presenting and implementing processes and projects.
May assist in the development of project plans and use project planning tools.
Skills and Experience required but not limited to:
Knowledge of medical center operations and software applications, hardware, network, and telephony infrastructure
Must be detailed oriented, organized and have good planning skills. The ability to manage multiple tasks and be a self-starter.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization; Senior Managers, Customers, and staff.
Ability to learn new technical tools quickly (Remedy, NIKU, etc)
Project management skills
Experience in collecting and analyzing data, creating reports and providing recommendations.
Experience with MS Office suite of applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
Interpersonal skills with focus on team building, partnering, delegating, consulting, and working across various functional groups.
Skills in meeting facilitation and critical analytical thinking
Highly motivated, positive attitude strong inter-personal skills, able to manage difficult customer situations
