Description
Interim Finance Director required for 6 month contract with leading Bank in the City, paying max £900/day.
You'll need to provide:
1) High level of commercial advice; as the right hand man to MD will have exceptional analytical rigour, prioritizing, able to influence strategy.
2) Deep experience improving financial controls; there is a process and controls piece, working with Subject matter Experts.
3) Exceptional Leadership skills; leading a large team, will need to set clear objectives, lead and manage.
4) Banking/Financial Services sector experience is essential.
5) Finance Director with unsecured Loans experience is essential.
In this role you will provide high impact financial leadership to the businesses on a broad range of strategic, financial and commercial issues and opportunities, ensuring effective delivery of performance management, decision support, financial planning and financial control activities for the businesses.
Required:
A sound financial management knowledge base. This may have been obtained through experience in a variety of finance roles or training as a professional accountant.
Ability to identify areas for process improvement and work with subject matter experts to ensure successful execution of such projects.
Analytical skills and financial modelling capability.
Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with a deep interest in the drivers of performance within the business and a drive for high standards and continuous improvement.
Ability to solve problems and make tough decisions, taking a pragmatic approach to balancing business needs with resource constraints.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly synthesise large amounts of data and explain the implications for the business.
The confidence, maturity and stature to deal effectively with senior colleagues in all parts of the business.
Proven team leadership and talent development ability.
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential -
Accounting qualification and/or proven experience in finance role at a senior level.
Experience in finance within large, complex organisation.
Experience with performance management and reporting and driving commercial decision making.
Knowledge of core accounting systems and other databases.
Experience of leading and managing large teams.
Audit/financial control experience.
Project management qualifications (Six Sigma, PRINCE etc) is desirable (not essential).
Experience in payments industry is preferred (not essential).
