About the Organisation
This leading consultancy requires an Information Security Analyst to work within the security information and event management area. This role will sit within the security operations team providing both proactive and reactive support within a complex environment.
About the Role
The Information Security Analyst will focus on implementing monitoring strategies which are aligned to the client's and organisations requirements. On a day to day basis the analyst will be assisting in end to end fault determination, troubleshooting and escalation of security infrastructure, as well as maintaining and updating Security Documentation and Operation Procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of IDS/IPS using products such as ISS Proventia, Sourcefire, McAfee Intrushield, TippingPoint and Ciscoworks, and who are wanting to work with large enterprise organisations including leading banks and financial institutions. In addition, it is also essential to have an experience with Oracle SQL, as well as Pearl, Linux Shell Scripting skills.
Skill and experience required:
* Proven knowledge of WAN LAN, TCP/IP, Firewall, IDS alerting and Network Security Support
* Strong Technical Skills across IDS/IPS (ISS Proventia, Sourcefire, McAfee Intrushield etc.), Oracle SQL and Pearl, Linux Shell Scripting skills
* Commercial experience with ARCSIGHT (highly regarded)
* While this is not necessary, an understanding of SIEM principles and best practices and security postures/policies will be highly regarded (some training and on the job support will be provided)
* Excellent communication skills
