Description
Institutional Brokerage House and Investment Bank needs a SQL Server DBA to work on it's Global DBA desk located in Jersey City. The role is designed for someone that has extensive experience in Financial Services(or similarly paced environment) specifically with performance and tuning. Being able to identify recurring issues within the environment and make changes as needed is vital. The candidate must be proven under pressure. This candidate will be the lead DBA when there are performance issues or outages of business critical SQL servers. They can expect internal users of various levels asking questions regarding issue resolution.
SQL Server administration required skills
Must have good solid knowledge of SQL Server who can step in day 1 as SQL DBA.
Experience with SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008
Knowledge of Scripting language such as and/or powershell
The candidate must have performance and tuning skills at both server and query level.
Must be able to analyze performance from both windows and SQL server levels.
Good knowledge of SQL Server Replication
Good knowledge of SQL Database Mirroring
Good knowledge of SQL Log Shipping
Good knowledge of SQL Server partitioning.
Good Knowledge of SQL Server Clustering
Good Knowledge of reporting services
Good knowledge of SSIS and DTS
Awareness of analysis services
Experienced in upgrading and rewriting DTS packages as SSIS packages.
Administrative experience with large databases(1/2 Tb or more)
