Senior Protocol Framework Engineer (Contract): UMTS, 3GPP, PCT
Main Duties and Responsibilities for the Protocol Framework Engineer:
-Software design, development, testing and maintenance for PCT UMTS (& GERAN) framework for 3GPP TS
-Problem analysis, investigation, solution and implementation in PCT UMTS (& GERAN) framework software
-To anchor complex new feature development for UMTS R7, R8 and beyond
-Be able to interface with other teams within the organization as required.
Required Experience from the Protocol Framework Engineer:
-Excellent C/C++ experience, minimum 5 years
-Excellent software architecture, design and implementation (including OOD/UML), minimum 5 years
-Excellent analytical and problem solving/debugging skills
-Good 3GPP protocol/air interface knowledge (UMTS/GERAN), minimum 3 years
-Programming and problem solving on Windows OS
-Good experience in software development life cycle, minimum 5 year
-Use of version control/software configuration management tools eg Perforce, CVS, Clearcase
Desired Experience from the Protocol Framework Engineer:
-Familiarity with TTCN2 and TTCN2 compilers (eg.Telelogic Tau)
-Familiarity with 3GPP TS 34.123 testing
-Protocol Software Development/Protocol Test Tool Development
-Familiarity of system simulators, system emulators in a software/hardware environment
