MAJOR JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with a cross-functional to derive business and technical requirements for a new cloud-based reservations system
  • Test all requirements to ensure they meet specific quality standards.
  • Develop acceptance criteria for each individual requirement or user story.
  • Work with the QA team to develop and implement standardized test frameworks for both manual and automated testing.
  • Work with the QA team to develop and implement a distributed scrum model for deploying test resources into global development teams.
  • Coordinate the testing of multiple streams of work using internal and external resources.
  • Work with QA Analysts and Developers to ensure that all aspects of the system have proper testing coverage and overall system reliability, performance and quality
  • Provide testing management for ongoing projects and future initiatives
  • Deliver effective and efficient testing solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, and adhering to development and quality standards
  • Analyze the testing needs and develop testing strategy and plans
  • Review and approve test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures such as database impacts, software scenarios or usability.
  • Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance or completeness and/or to mitigate risks
  • Ensure application documentation is complete and maintained/updated in a timely fashion

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant field
  • 8-10 years progressive experience quality assurance roles covering all aspects of the quality arena
  • Applied experience in gathering and developing business requirements, along with other members from a cross-functional team.
  • Experience with hotel/leisure/travel industries - preferred

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong knowledge of testing disciplines and methodologies
  • Knowledge of test frameworks - both manual and automated (ie, Open2Test or BPT)
  • Experience with distributed scrum teams
  • Experience using automated tools - both commercial (QTP, Load Runner) and open-source (Selenium)
  • Strong analytical skills - able to create testable requirements from higher level concepts
  • Analytical thinker, detailed oriented
  • Strong Interpersonal skills - able to interact with others at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem solving skills
