Senior Project Manager- Banking - Halifax/Bristol - Up to £450 per day

A leading UK retail bank is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join its team based in Halifax or Bristol, working on a major new programme.

To be considered you will be from a financial services background, ideally retail banking, with specific ATM knowledge being an advantage.

You will be:

  • Accountable for the overall delivery of large scale complex projects with significant business impact ensuring solutions are fit for purpose 
  • Able to shape a large project or programme from a business vision into a clearly defined delivery roadmap identifying the optimum number of projects and/or workstreams and the appropriate schedule of drops and releases 
  • Continually reassesses the delivery roadmap throughout the project life cycle to ensure it remains the most appropriate approach for delivering business benefit 
  • Understands how benefits will be delivered by incremental completion of all projects within a programme and can articulate to stakeholders how each project contributes to the overall business case 
  • Identifies and manages dependencies with external projects and programmes within own business unit, Retail and Group 
  • Implements an appropriate programme governance structure, with different levels of stakeholder input, to effectively control each project and workstream whilst exercising optimal control at the programme level 
  • Provides a programme control framework within which costs, benefits, standards and quality can be measured and within which Project Managers can coordinate their activities 
  • Identifies how the programme impacts regulatory and statutory controls (eg Sarbanes Oxley) and ensures that these controls are delivered 
  • Builds and maintains very strong relationships with IT to ensure a collaborative approach to delivery 
  • Understands the cultural impact of transformational change on colleagues and works to develop and implement 
  • Leads all colleagues reporting to them through effective leadership, motivation, delegation and training to ensure business and colleague needs are satisfactorily met.
